Ciudad del Para\u00edso<\/em> (City of Paradise<\/em>), a tribute by Nobel laureate Vicente Aleixandre to the city of his youth, has been engraved on a wooden fa\u00e7ade between the Palacio de la Aduana<\/strong> and the Alcazaba<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

This heartfelt homage brings poetry to the streets and reconnects M\u00e1laga with one of its most passionate voices.
The connection between Vicente Aleixandre and M\u00e1laga<\/strong> runs deep: though born in Seville, the poet spent his childhood and early youth in this coastal city, where the Mediterranean sea, light, and landscape shaped his vision.<\/p>\n

A Life Dedicated to Poetry and Beauty<\/h2>\n

After briefly practicing law, Aleixandre\u2019s true path began during recovery from illness\u2014writing poetry. He soon became a central figure of the Generation of ’27<\/strong>, alongside Lorca and Cernuda. His work, rich in metaphors and emotional depth, evolved from pure poetry to surrealist forms and ultimately to a more human-centered voice.<\/p>\n

Aleixandre was a member of the Royal Spanish Academy<\/strong>, and in 1977, his literary legacy was crowned with the Nobel Prize in Literature<\/strong>. This recognition elevated not just his own work, but the entire Generation of ’27.<\/p>\n
